Fatema Abdoolcarim's work lies in the interstices of fantasy and memory. Through photographs, videos and installation work, she ventures in to deeply visceral terrain. At the core of her work lies a fascination with childhood, the loss of innocence and sexuality. Her images are explorations of the subconscious mind, and the notion of identity.
